Even though this is a vegan podcast, talking about mental health is very important to both of us. And should be important to everyone! Talking about mental health struggles helps break the stigma behind them and also helps others feel less alone as they deal with their own issues. As the holidays approach, we need even more tips and tricks for dealing with stress. We are hoping that by sharing our tips, you will benefit and share yours.
20 Tips for Dealing With Stress
We both wrote 10 different ways we deal with stress and they are definitely unique to both of us. It’s pretty interesting how similar some of our tips are and yet how wildly different our coping mechanisms are. In no particular order, here are some of the tips we shared on the podcast for dealing with stress:
- Use your senses – smells, textures, colors, sounds, tastes
- Time in the garden
- Creating art to just create art
- Asking a friend how they are doing and helping them with a problem
- Relaxing video games
- Use fidget “toys”
- Schedule time with friends
- Listen to the podcast for more recommendations on dealing with stress!
One of our listeners, Tyra, recommended the Calm app. Meg says Insight Timer app is similar and has more free options!
