In Episode #18, we take a step back from the heavier subjects and instead, we dove into the delicious subject of vegan ice cream. A few years ago, the options were limited when it came to a dairy and egg free ice cream. Nowadays there’s a plethora of plant-based ice cream available at your local grocery store. There are even big brands like Ben & Jerry’s throwing their hat into the vegan ice cream ring!
In this episode, we both ventured to our local grocery stores – Kroger for David and Sprouts for Meg – and filled our carts with vegan ice cream options. We picked different brands from each other and all ice cream was judged on creaminess and flavor!
Plant-Based Bases
Vegan ice cream usually comes in a plant-based milk base such as almond, cashew, coconut, or oat milk. So if you have a preference for one of those plant-based milks, you can start your search for the perfect ice cream there. Below are the 9 flavors we taste tested from 7 different brands. Listen to this episode to hear our opinions because boy do we have some! Let us know what plant-based ice cream is your favorite.
